Honor of Kings International Championship 2023, better known as KIC 2022 is the grandest stage of the Honor of Kings championship. The game’s Chinese version and international adaptation both are featured together in this world championship series. This year’s KIC is going to be the second edition of the event with global teams from all around the world.

The tournament will be played in the Global version of the game. KIC 2023 will feature a massive prize pool of ¥69,000,000 (almost $9,800,000). Level Infinite and VSPN is going to be the organizer of the event. With a total of 16 teams, the offline event will take place in three different locations in China. From the 29th of November 2023, the event will kick off.

The event schedule and format are as follows.

Schedule

The event is divided into two stages namely the Wildcard and the Grand Finals. A total of 27 teams from Mainland China, China’s Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions, Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, Japan, Latin America, the Middle East, and other regions will participate in KIC 2023. However, the grand finals will feature 16 teams in total.

The event calendar is as follows.

  • KPL Qualifier: 16th November – 21st November
  • Wild Card Qualifier: 22nd November – 25th November
  • Group Stage: 29th November – 9th December
  • Knockout Stage: 12th December – 24th December
  • Grand Finals: 30th December

Format

11 teams will participate in the Wildcard stage. The top 5 will move on to the group sage. Then, the 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams each where the formation of each group will be 1 KPL seed team, 1 Global seed team, and 1 wildcard team.

Matches will be held in a double round-robin format, followed by B03 rounds. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The knockout stage will feature a double-elimination bracket where all the matches will be played in BO7 format. Global ban/pick rules will be applied with the inclusion of Ultimate Battle.
